Thanks

The Cherokee Women's Club, sponsors of last week's Candlelight Walk, wish to extend many thanks to the community:

"Thank you to Citizens National Bank, Volunteer Federal Savings & Loan, Peoples Bank of Monroe County, Dickey McCay Insurance, Tellico Wellness Center, and Skyway Tax Service. These sponsors paid for the wagon rides, gingerbread contest, the advertising, the portapotties and other expenses in putting on this event. Thanks to Dona Van Asdale (who also made the Christmas Ornaments again this year) for making candle holders for each Gingerbread Contest winner.

We also owe big thanks to Valley Lumber for the building for the Live Nativity, Everhart Lumber for the sand for the luminaries, Bill & Barbara Myerson for the use of their storefront for the Cookie Caper, Bill Shadden and friends with the two horse-drawn wagons which carried people around town, Mary & Ray Tallent for the use of the Sunflower Inn for Santa to visit with the children, Monroe County Beautiful for the trash recepticles, Larry Harris for the Grinch, and Mary & Dennis Caldwell of Skyway Antiques for hosting the Gingerbread Contest. Apologies if we've left anyone out, and thank you to all the many other volunteers, live nativity participants, community members, carolers, businesses, churches, musicians, and cookie bakers for their help and support for this event."
